10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
Villain has been raising his button almost every round so I call with a marginal holding in the sb. The only other time this situation occurred was when he raised from button like usual and I called with KQo in sb. Flop was KJ2 and I lead for 120. This was shown down and we split.
I have a semi-lag image which I think he's picked up on. I figure people will either like or hate this play. Re: 10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
It certainly looks like he has a pair of queens here. Now the question is whether or not he will lay it down. Its hard to evaluate this line with so little information, but a check raise on the river is better than a lead imo.

For the record I def think he'll lay down a queen. Prob something stronger as well.

If you think he's "definately" folding a queen here (as in near 100%), then this move is clearly good. That aside, yes, this line is generally good when people check behind on turn, looks like a whiffed c/r on turn that (correctly) checked river again. So yes, it's nice, don't overdo it tho. |

Re: 10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
seems wreckless. villain has to lay down pair of Queens only if he thinks you have J10. You would NEVER play a set, two pair, or anything else that beats a pair of queens like this.

i would sometimes play a set like this. If you would play J10 like this why wouldn't you play a set like this sometimes?

Re: 10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
Your line is weird, and it may make villain curious enough to look you up with a queen, or worse. Bet flop, check turn, and c/r river raises some eyebrows.

Re: 10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
holla, assuming your opponent is the right type (can fold a queen here, will play a missed draw similarly, etc), I think this was a very very good spot for your bluff. I like it a lot.

Re: 10/20nl good bluff or death sentence?
This bluff is a solid play against a good player. A great one is easily capable of calling you thin with one pair and a bad 1 will be happy he has a pair and will be confused by all of your betting, checking, and raising and look you up here.
