RedSox fans were wearing the Red Sun?
Cudos to the great Boston fans at the game last night and overall.
But my grandfather who fought in the Pacific must be rolling in his grave right now at the sight of the moronic American fans wearing Japanese red sun bandannas. Did this bother anyone else? |

Some steller answers. Keep em coming. [/ QUOTE ] What exactly did you expect? That war happened far before the majority of SE posters were born. The war was fought against 1942-1945 Japan, not 2007 Japan. Go away. |

[/ QUOTE ] Lets not get into world affairs and history, but Japan is one of our most significant military and economic partners. After WWII they dissolved their standing army to set up a force that was strictly defensive. They have only deployed troops on foreign soil without a UN mandate once since WWII, to help the US in Iraq. In conclusion, it is ignorance like yours that is wrong with country. Can we lock this thread? |

[/ QUOTE ] Were you one of the people who cried when Letters from Iwojima came out ? Did you think that Clint glorified the Japanese in there ? I have a question for you. Do you own anything by Sony ? Toyota, Honda, Canon, NTT.... on and on. This is indeed 2007, and Dice-k never faught at Pearl Harbor, and neither did his parents. His grand parents maybe. But at some point you have to accept that it's time to move on. And while you're listening to your ipod with Japanese components in it, you can cut the Sox fans a break. They meant no harm... |
