cardio without killing my legs
recently, i have been trying to put at least 45 minutes of cardio in every day for calorie burning reasons. however, after a month of this my legs are really starting to kill... i don't want to hurt myself / take myself out of commission / or, most likely, make myself sore enough that i get out of the habit of exercising again and thus get off the losing weight track i've been on.
any recommendations on how to keep the calorie burning up but the leg muscle stress down? |

Take days off? You will get to where you are hurting your legs more with the overwork than helping them.

Jump rope, shadowbox, calisthenics, get a couple of sticks and practice stickfighting drills. Nunchaku drills are great for cardio if they're still legal anywhere.

i dont know how this hasnt been suggested yet, but the obvious answer is to take up swimming. not only is it an awesome overall body workout and really good for weight loss, but its pretty much zero stress on your legs, especially if you get one of those floaty foam things to put between your legs to keep them afloat without having to kick.

[/ QUOTE ] i wouldn't call my body "good", but it's good enough that i can take my shirt off at a swimming pool anyway; i actually tried this but i didn't want to pay for a second gym membership to get access to an olympic sized pool. i actually swam a lot in high school, but for some reason when i first came back i started having swimmers ear problems almost immediately (no clue why); tried to solve the problem with wax plugs but they kept falling out (probably because i am retarded) and eventually gave up |
