10/25NL at Foxwoods.........
Here are the dynamics. Real Juicy 10/25NL game. Preflop it has been limped round usually, rarely any raises preflop but players are still getting into huge pots with one pair weak kicker, it's basically a dream situation for someone that really understands the game. Anyway, there is a live straddle, so its 50 to call. I am the shortest stack at the table with roughly 8k. 4 limpers I am on Button with KcKs. I raise to 500. SB calls, BB calls, all limpers call, straddler folds. Yes, I am officially [censored] a brick, now my post flop game has to come into play. My guess is that a few players limped with PPs and there is definitely a hand like AQ or Q10s out there. Not really too sure how they could all limp then flat call 500. Flop comes 10h5h2c. Checked to me.........?? I have 7500 behind, not really trying to go broke with one pair here but this is probably the best flop I could of seen. I bet 1200 into 3500. Leaving 6300 behind. SB folds BB folds UTG +1 calls, everyone else folds...UTG + 1 has roughly 40k behind and is without a doubt the best player at the table. He is a regular and is not afraid to gamble it up..Now the pot is 5900 and I have 6300 behind, my intentions were to push on any non heart turn or non ace turn...Turn is 6h. Villain thinks for 20 seconds, looks at me and checks...What is the right line here. What would you guys do?

Re: 10/25NL at Foxwoods.........
I can't believe six people called 20 BBs preflop. WTF.
How about just pushing the flop? There's a shitton of money in that pot. |

Re: 10/25NL at Foxwoods.........
yes oh well, you have 6k left 3500 in the pot, they're not having sets enough to make it -EV....I'd bet 2500 on the flop and call a push, as played I check turn fold to a river bet unless it's like 1500 because he's very unlikely to bet a worse hand

I like your flop bet. I likely check behind turn and call river bet.

I can't believe six people called 20 BBs preflop. WTF. [/ QUOTE ] They didn't. The straddle turns this into a 10-25-50 game. If you're playing 10-25-50 and 4 people/calling stations try to limp, how much should you raise? Clearly $500 is actually on the small side here (for a live game featuring multiple stations). It would depend on my image and table dynamics, but from the description of the game I pop it to $750 or more when 4 people try to limp in a straddled pot. Anyway, OP says the villain is solid. He limped UTG in a straddled pot (I am assuming UTG is actually the straddler and so villain is the real UTG player) and called a raise, but only after the SB and BB called. Given the described game (rarely peflop raises, people paying off with marginal hands) I guess it's possible he has a weak hand like two suited cards. Since the SB and BB called the $500, villain could be calling with a marginal hand. He would also know that the limp stations behind him would now probably come along due to "pot odds". So now OP is in a tough spot. I would check behind here on the turn. I really don't think he has a set, because he would be foolish to slow play it here. Given that he has $40K and you are the shortstack at $8K, it would be foolish for him to check call a small bet with a set on that flop (with deep calling station to act behind him). For these reason I think he is only beating you if he turned the flush or rivers you. I call a river bet, and even consider making a think value bet if he checks. |

I like betting 3k then pushing the turn, and calling a checkraise push.
