AJ from CO against river donk
BB is 19/12/2.84, pretty solid player.
SB is 71/0.6/0.3, worst station ever. Party Poker Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $0.05/$0.1 10 players Converter Pre-flop: (10 players) Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG (poster) checks, 5 folds, Hero raises, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG folds. Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (7SB, 3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB calls, BB calls. Turn: 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8BB, 3 players) SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB calls. River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (11BB, 3 players) SB bets, BB calls, Hero ??? I typically call here HU (which is standard), but do I have a hand to overcall (especially given SB's calling station donk and BB's solid style)? |

Re: AJ from CO against river donk
i call this a 'sanity call'
I also disregard BB...he isnt overcalling anything that beats TPTK IMHO. That being said, you are beat really often here but once in a while you snap a WTF bluff. |

Re: AJ from CO against river donk
I'll let BB do the sanity call. You are not beating anything a bad player is donking this river with.

Re: AJ from CO against river donk
Does anyone else think BB has a club flush? If I were in the BB and flopped a flush draw, I'd c/r because I'm expecting the PFR to c-bet, the station to call, and then me to add the +EV raise.
That said, I don't think TPTK is good often enough to call here. |

SB is 71/0.6/0.3, worst station ever. [/ QUOTE ] Muck it. You beat BB's QJ, but you never beat SB. Against a "pretty solid player", I might call the flop check-raise and then raise the turn. His flop check-raise makes it look like he has top pair or maybe 99-77. He'll lead with all these hands on the turn and you can raise there instead. |

i never said sanity calls were +EV...but if they prevent hero from megatilt then so be it.

No way I fold this HU.
Yeah, I guess the action I take here depends a lot on the opponents. |

u guys fold this HU? [/ QUOTE ] Against a player who does check-call, check-call, donk? I usually pay off with TPTK unless I have a pretty good read because you see that play with top pair often enough, even from seemingly passive players. This hand is different because it takes a special type of seemingly passive villain to wake up with a river donk-bluff into two players after going for 3 bets on the flop. |
