This is my first try at posting a hand, so sorry if it is boring/obvious...
SB was unknown, but over 20 hands seemed very loose/passive and really bad. UTG had just joined the table. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (5 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Hero ($6.65) Button ($4.05) SB ($8.19) BB ($10.50) UTG ($10.65) Preflop: Hero is MP with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.05, Hero raises to $0.25, 1 fold, SB calls $0.23, 1 fold, UTG calls $0.20. Turn: ($1.60) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero checks. River: ($1.60) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets $0.6, Hero raises to $2.05, SB raises to $7.54, Hero... The all in bet was instant so I figure his range was probably a set or T9 exactly, meaning I am ahead 3/7 times and should call. Is this about right? If so, how big would the final bet need to be for me to discount some or all of the sets? |

His range definetely includes less then sets/straight. Rivered two pair is quite possible. Definitely a call.

I agree this is an easy call. BTW you should probably bet more on the flop and also bet the turn, because you have a great hand and you are getting paid by a J or T9.

I normally would have bet the turn, guess I was just trying to be tricky, which is not smart against this opponent, I know. I usually c-bet about half the pot on this type of board, since T9 is the only draw, is that not enough?

Also, I really feel this guy would just call with 1 or 2 pair. In one hand I saw him check down aces all the way to the river and then just call a 1/3 pot bet on a very un-coordinated queen high board.

Fold if you like lighting your money on fire. You lose to one hand. He played it like 9 10, but he could easily have 88, 44, 33, JJ, or JQ.

Don't try and get tricky, you will make maximum profit by straight out betting good hands like this for three streets of value.
Bet closer to the pot on flop. Bet turn aswell. Call on river. |
