Bobby Jenks is Unhittable
Jenks has now retired enough batters to fill a perfect game, and he is about half way thru a second one.
Where does this rank in pitching accomplishments compared to say Orel H scoreless innings and Gagne's consecutive save streaks? What if Jenks ends this streak north of 55 retired batters in a row? That's 2+ perfect games thrown...(one inning at a time) Would you rank an accomplishment at that level higher than Orel or Gagne? |

Re: Bobby Jenks is Unhittable
Probably lower. I posted this in the ALC thread and no one cared.

I'm really surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. Incredible achievement imo.

Re: Bobby Jenks is Unhittable
How much easier or harder is this than hitting in 56 straight games?

Re: Bobby Jenks is Unhittable
gagne's streak was impressive, but not bigger than Orel's or Jenks'. i remember a discussion about it as it was happening. it amounted to this. (1) the NL sucks. there's no way anybode can do this in the AL. (2) he saved a bunch of 2- and 3-run games, which alone prompted a lobby for changing the saves rule.
