Default So what\'s the deal with \"Atlas Shrugged\"?

I alterneately read that this is a transcendant book, and that it is an overblown piece of crap. One of my favorite people, Renn Jillette, recommends it highly, as have many others, but wieghing in at over 1000 pages, it's quite a time investment.

So what's the deal with it, anyways. Wikipedia says it explores themes that give rise to odjectivism, ( which I'm about to read about on the site), but what else. Should I just trust South Park( usually, but not always, a good idea.)?

I just noticed that this was NOT in reference to my lovely daughter Renna, and actually in reference to my typo regarding Penn Jillette's name.

Management regrets the error.

I don't know why Rand lovers tell people to read Atlas Shrugged. The Fountainhead is a much better book, and actually managable in a week.

i made it about 800 pages before deciding that i wasn't going to waste any more of my life on that piece of [censored].

you should read it if you like the words mock, mocked, mockingly and mocking. serioulsly if you do read it get a highlighter or underline every form of mock you see. i'd be interested to know the number, prolly around 1,000.

Just read a bit about it on Wikipedia, it appears that the book is pretty well aligned with many of my beliefs.

Read the Fountainhead first. It had an editor.
