I thought he would raise the flop with the straight (unless he has the straight and flush draw). Would he play a bigger set like this, waiting for a safe turn? |

Re: Bottom set, 3 to the straight, 2, to the flush, unraised pot
i doubt he has a straight or set because with the caller inbetween you and him he wont want to give free cards to be outdrawn.
i would guess he has something like Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. shove it. |

Re: Bottom set, 3 to the straight, 2, to the flush, unraised pot
He should raise a set/straight on such a drawy flop. He doesn't have QQ or 99, and prob not even 77 if he is any good. You are good here so often vs. this opponent. Fist pump/then shove.

Re: Bottom set, 3 to the straight, 2, to the flush, unraised pot
Just because he SHOULD raise the flop with a set doesn't mean he will. Most people suck at poker. So, a set or a straight are both entirely possible. However, so're all the two pairs and draws, so let's just put the money in right now: If we call and wait for the river, there're so many cards that either kill our action or give us a really tough river call.
Also, raise PF. |

Raise preflop. Flopping a set in an unraised pot sucks big time.
