2 days to spend in Chicago -- what should I do??
Have a wedding to attend there that will occupy my Friday and Saturday, but will have Wed, Thurs to spend in Chicago. I have never been.
Would like to solicit ideas of how to make the most out of my 48 hours of free time there. Already bought tix to see Cubs at Wrigley. That's all I have lined up to this point. |

What kind of stuff are you into? If you're looking for the major tourist type attractions you've got the Natural History Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue, Lincoln Park Zoo...any 1 of which might take an entire afternoon. There's lots of nightlife near Wrigley Park or Lincoln Park too.

The Art Institute of Chicago!!! [/ QUOTE ] FYI: starting June 3rd, there is free admission on Thursdays and Fridays from 5pm-9pm. If you go to the Art Institute during the day, grab a snack at the Garden Restaurant. The food isn't great but the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. |

Re: 2 days to spend in Chicago -- what should I do??
When I'm in Chicago I always love to visit the Shedd Aquarium (they used to have a great otter exhibit and probably still do) and The Art Institute. The Art Institute is just amazing, you should really try to make time for it if you enjoy art at all. The Museum of Science and Industry is really cool too but very crowded.
I've been to Navy Pier several times but it doesn't do much for me. I did ride the ferris wheel though and it is tall! Right now I'm trying to decide whether or not to go up this summer and check out the King Tut exhibit at the Natural History Museum. My sister and her family are planning a trip up there and it sounds sort of fun. I may tag along. |

Wrigley Field (the team sucks but the bars around it are good)
Taste of Chicago starts on July 1st i believe Navy Pier isn't all that fun I think eat at Ricobene's on 26th, Lou Malnoti's (sp?),Portillo's,Giordano's, Gino's East, Signature Room on the 95th floor of the Hancock, The Rosebud, Cite,Charlie Trotters go to Michigan Ave., go to the Sears tower and look down, yadda yadda Museums are nice, Shed Aquarium is my favorite |
