Default Mehhhh - in which I fold an overpair on a dry boad (FT 200 NL)

Villian is Surr3al1ty for you FT regs. Loose/passive and kinda bad reg at 100 & 200 NL. Calls 3bets too lightly OOP (small PP and Kqo for ex) and seems generally passive post flop. I have him at 26/14/1.4 over 2500 hands. BB is a huge donk running at 58/21, so I imagine villian can be calling pf a bit lighter due to this.

Hero should be viewed as tight/solid.

Full Tilt Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

BB: $146.90
UTG: $228.15
MP: $185
CO: $323.35
Hero (BTN): $200
SB: $220.55

Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
3 folds, Hero raises to $7, SB calls $6, BB calls $5

Flop: ($21) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $14, SB raises to $46, BB folds, Hero calls $32

Turn: ($113) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $167.55 and is All-In, Hero folds

Results: $113 Pot ($3 Rake)
SB mucked and WON $110 (+$57 NET)

I'd like it better if it the board wasn't paired and this low. Like 852. In this spot, I think you find a lot of people with the villain's description showing up with JJ-88, since they don't tend to reraise too lightly PF and there's only 44 and a handful of 2x hands that he can have that beat us.

That said it probably isn't a huge mistake either way because he definitely has a boat or a deuce here sometimes.

This is pretty much what I am wondering. Does someone like this turn 99/1010 into a bluff here? Or does he think he is value shoving?

Also, does the overbet shove mean anything (i.e do you play diff if he bets like $80 on the turn)?

I forgot to mention in OP, but he insta shoved the turn.

Surreality is passive? I've always seem him as pretty aggro. I like 17 on the flop and I don't think I can fold.

hate this fold. if he has 55 he flats flop cos of donk in BB, prob same as a 2. plus the overbet turn looks more like a medium pair to me

Plenty of villains will value-town JJ-99 or thereabouts here.

Exactly what sort of flop are you hoping for to get KK in with?

222?

Heh...I am usually happy to get it in on this type of board. I'm just used to being the aggressor when I do. He c'rd a super dry flop and shoved the turn...I got scurred of a monster

If he can get you to fold KK, I'd do it too.
