Two QQ hands at NL25: Is this pot control?
I have all of 13 hands on Villain, and most of them took place after the posted one, so let's call him an unknown (because that's what he is).
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) CO ($4.40) Button ($24.40) SB ($4.75) BB ($20.49) UTG ($35.86) UTG+1 ($24.25) MP1 ($45.35) MP2 ($24.65) Hero ($45.69) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 4 folds, Hero raises to $1, 3 folds, BB raises to $1.75, Hero calls $0.75. Well, fine, I don't know what that min/3-bet means. Let's see a flop and then I'll decide what I think of my hand. Flop: ($3.60) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Not my first choice . . . BB checks, Hero checks. Am I getting trapped? Turn: ($3.60) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero checks. Am I still getting trapped? River: ($3.60) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $3.77, Hero calls $3.77. All right, I guess I can call, after all of that inactivity. Final Pot: $11.14 Villain in this hand is 11/8/1 after 102. I think my play here is basically standard, but we'll see. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP1 ($10.35) MP2 ($22.90) MP3 ($4.10) CO ($23.80) Button ($8.65) SB ($25.40) BB ($25.50) UTG ($25.60) UTG+1 ($29.70) Hero ($53.51) Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 2 folds, Hero raises to $1, 1 fold, MP2 calls $1, 5 folds. Flop: ($2.35) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Again, it's not the flop I was hoping for, but oh well. Hero bets $2, MP2 raises to $4, Hero folds. I made a decent-sized bet and couldn't see how I could continue against the min-raise -- against this player or against most NL25 players. Anyway, if I had even gotten called, I probably wasn't going to make it to showdown. I wasn't planning to bet again UI. Final Pot: $8.35 Thoughts? |

Re: Two QQ hands at NL25: Is this pot control?
Both hands are the same way I'd play it.
