Re: $3/6 Q9 in SB
Fold. One of the two either flopped a set or has an overpair at the least.

Re: $3/6 Q9 in SB
I fold preflop. they arn't suited they arn't coneted if the flop came 9 high on Turn and river can came many Overcards if the flop came Q high you have no kicker. What do you think you can win with that trash?
I think fold after the 3-bet may be the best. If you call it could get capped. |

[/ QUOTE ] folding Q9o in the small blind for 1/2 a bet is horrible. to answer your points: if I flop top pair against a few loose passives (as is typical of live play) and bet out and no one raises I dont really give a damn about my kicker. If I flop a straight (or an OESD) I'm going to get a ton of action as it is in the "playing zone" and will hit lots of other hands. If I flop two pair anyone with a Q is paying me off the whole way. I'm not getting married to my hand on a 9 hi or Q hi flop if theres too much action. Thus, if you have half a brain postflop, folding Q9o preflop here is just horrible. Now that I've said that, you should know what to do. Fold the flop to the 3B. |

You are oop with a trash starting hand all off the time |

Re: $3/6 Q9 in SB
You guys might want to throw in some implied odds into your arguments. What portion of the bet you're calling is only part of the puzzle.

Not to care about your kicker is a mistake in holdem poker if you bet out and only one raises could you fold you toppair Q?? If I flop a straight (or an OESD) I'm going to get a ton of action as it is in the "playing zone" and will hit lots of other hands. If I flop OESD,... than you have a chane from 1/3 to hit it to the river. If you think this way you can play nerly any 2cards If I flop two pair anyone with a Q is paying me off the whole way. If you think that you can play any two cards I'm not getting married to my hand on a 9 hi or Q hi flop if theres too much action. Thus, if you have half a brain postflop, folding Q9o preflop here is just horrible. May be you don't know it. It's right in a full ring game ( 10 Players ) to play preflop the best 15 - 20% (round about) and Q9o is definif not. Now that I've said that, you should know what to do. Fold the flop to the 3B.
