Feeling bad about terrible friends
I run a small .25/.5 cash game every week and lately have been getting a few new players. I've known these kids and have played with them before and they're MOSTLY all terrible. One of my friends is so bad that I almost feel terrible playing with him.
We played yesterday and he probably blew over $100 when most of us bought in for 20-30 to start. I guess if he has the dough to lose whatever, but I also dont want him to not come back after taking a couple hits. I was almost praying he would catch something so he'd stay as it was fairly short handed. |

Re: Feeling bad about terrible friends
- teach him how to play better
- host training session days on other games, talk about general poker strategy during them - discuss hands with the group via email or something, include him. Osmosis might work. - Play tourneys- that will control the losses. |

The limit looks very high to me for such bad players [/ QUOTE ] Well, to "them" it's almost too low. The normal raise in the game was like $3-7 preflop. These guys are really into the local Players Pub Poker here so they think they're good but are really terrible. I guess my real question would be what would be the best route to take to keep them coming back?? |

Re: Feeling bad about terrible friends
I had a friend that used to play in my game. He was really bad. Like atrociously bad. And he would get drunk in that slow manner, you know where they kind of lean in to their chip stack and count the chips out slowly, looking at them and concentrating...
He would just stack off with like King high and such for seemingly no reason. And this is after I had told him, "Hey, you don't have to be the table sheriff. People don't bluff nearly as much as one would think because they don't have to. If somebody's betting something, the odds are pretty good they have something." He just never quite got that. The game moved out of my place for a while, and now that it's back, it's mixed games and I didn't relish teaching him all the new games, so he just hasn't been invited. I should mention that this was going on while he was jobless and had a preggers wife, so I definitely felt bad. (I've known his wife since high school and I kind of got them together.) |

(idiotic babble not repeated) [/ QUOTE ] I haven't read any of your other forum posts, from your week-long stint on 2+2, but you're getting off to a less than stellar start here in HP |
