Hold\'Em - Hoping for some recommandations on sites and rakeback
Hi guys
I used to play some Hold'Em (about 165,000 hands of Hold'Em in 2006), but haven't played any card game now for over a year. Thus, hoping for some tips and updates! 1. The sites I have tried Paradise: - 5 player table, mostly 2 dollar (200 dollar). Also tried some multi-tables, but less, and with significant losses (mostly at Paradise, 20 dollar (2000)-table). Party Poker: Had also some runs at Party Poker, on 6 person tables, e.g. on 6 dollar (600). In total: I earned about USD 11,000, even though I lost about 4 grand at Party and 7 grand at the 20 dollar multitable. I paid about 11,000 USD in rake. I really liked Paradise. Nice athmosphere, nice, calm, graphics. No jumping 3D effects, strange sounds etc, and you get some time to think. Also, lot of good players. I played mostly vs full-time players, so it was also a nice, social place. Party was crazy. Much more stress, and a lot of variation of player qualities. Also, very many tables, so people popped in and out much more often than on Paradise. 2. Questions - Hoping for some recommendations a. Paradise down or out? In the paper today I read that a 19-year old girl from my country just won an EPT-tourney and 1,5 MEUR or so! Now I want to start playing again! I thought about Paradise, but am not sure. Things happens fast in this world. Now, I can't even log in to Paradise. Is it down? Or out? b. What are the best sites now? Important points for me are i.a.: - compatibility with the PockerTracker software - decent software (easy to see cards/bets, etc, no crazy umping graphics making it tiresome and taking the focus off the game - rakeback possibilites (I mean, just 20 % of the 11 grand I paid, would be nice...). Or is there special rakeback sites I need to check out? - startbonus or other bonuses. Or is there also here special sites that I need to check out? c. No limit or limit? I have mostly played no limit. Should I consider playing limit? d. Regular or Tourney? I have mostly played regular cash games. Should I consider playing tourneys? Is it more money in it? Would really appreceate some help on this one. Thaks in advance, Wildkick66 |

Re: Hold\'Em - Hoping for some recommandations on sites and rakeback
2b. Full tilt and pokerstars have the most traffic and seem to be secure and reliable in my experience. there are also mods available for these sites on these forums for simple graphics which are ideal for multi tabling.
full tilt offers 27% rakeback if you go on rakeback.com however you will not recieve rakeback on your sign up bonuses but makesure you visit rakeback before opening an account. |

I love absolutepoker. It's the best for beginners [/ QUOTE ] I would NOT play at Absolute right now. There are some very serious security holes that are appearing. |

Re: Hold\'Em - Hoping for some recommandations on sites and rakeback
Full Tilt & PokerStars are THE sites at the moment. Loads of traffic and therefore no shortage of action.
Stars have no rakeback but they do have their own VIP/FPP system, just check out their site and it will tell you about it. At Full Tilt you can get 27% rakeback but make sure you sign up through an affiliate such as raketherake. No-limit or limit? That’s your choice/preference I think the consensus is that cash games are more profitable but again it depends where your strengths and preferences lie. |
