Re: SSNL Vid 3
cant. wait.
your advice is very very frequently spot on and logical IMO. not that i'm the one to judge, of course. thanks for your time edit: for those trying to download, its a WMV file, and I'm getting 650kb/s from MU using flashgot (i think in the other thread people were having problems, so just an "all clear" from me) |

Re: SSNL Vid 3
Hey, cool vid. Appreciate it, bro. Couple questions i had toward the beginning:
1) The hand where you check raised the turn w/ AJ and got called all in by k8 - sweet! How often are you making this play? You said that you had a strong feeling that he was floating - why did you think that? (there was a hand right before this where he floated and then bet when you checked to him- maybe this was the reason- but is this really enough?). Also, board was pretty drawy. I guess you are pricing the draws out and causing them to make a mistake if he calls. Anyway, just curious how and often and when in particular it is good to make plays like this- is it a regular play that you might make several times an hour, or pretty rare? 2) A couple hands after that you have a4o or something, and bet in position on a k22 flop. This makes sense. You get called by who I think was the same guy who made the k8 call. Yet you still fire big on turn unimproved- why would you make this play against this guy, who will call w/ king hi? (maybe you didnt realize it was same player, or maybe i am wrong ). 3) A bit later you have A6 on a 3 6 7 board and get checkraised. You ponder calling for awhile, and then fold, noticing that he only has like $20 left. Why does this dissuade you from calling? I am new to NL, but in limit, people seem more inclined to go in light when they are short. 4) You see a nit raise 10-9 utg, and comment on his lack of positional understanding. How light will you open utg? I know in limit, kjo is kind of borderline and controversial. Will you raise that? How about 8-9s? (i assume his 10-9 was offsuit). Well, got a few minutes left to watch. Appreciate the effort. Will try to find the first two as well. |

Re: SSNL Vid 3
1.) I don't do this very often. But if you notice in the hands leading up to that, I was very, very aggressive. I raised pre more than every other hand and I was dominating postflop. I believe the hand before was when I had QQ against the same villain on a JJ10 flop where he min raised me apparently with nothing. It seem like he wanted to float me. TBH, I don't like my play if he's calling with K8 because I was assuming he was folding a 6,7,3(?) and maybe even some Qs. But hey, I'll take it.
2.)My double barrel with a4 wasn't good, I was muttering to myself how dumb it was. For some reason I thought I could fold out every except AK, but I was dreaming there. 3.)I didn't think I was ahead of the villains range. I expecting something like a seven at best, and I'm pretty far behind. If we are deeper, than I can call and catch up (or snuff out his bluff) since he was so nice to give me odds. 4.)Its no so much that he raised 109s UTG, because I'll do that too. Its because he was only raising about 6-8% of his range, but was raising 109s UTG. Because 109s is a rather weak holding (if you are raising 6-8% of your hands) than you should be turbomucking it if you have any positional understanding. Given the correct table dynamics, such as a really nitty and weak table, I can raise just about anything UTG. |
