200NL - QQ in BvB on extremely wet flop.
This is probably a no brainer, just thought I'd check it anyway. Villain is 22/14 and I have no real history with him. I'm like 22/18 at this table over like 100 hands although I generally am more like 18/14/3. I'd opened like the last six hands in a row and was getting folds from the table.
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 4 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) Hero (SB): $288.30 BB: $187.70 UTG: $333.75 BTN: $376.75 Preflop: Hero is dealt Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 Players) 2 folds, Hero raises to $6.00, BB calls $4.00 Flop: ($12) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $9.00, BB raises to $39.00, Hero raises all-in to $282.30, BB calls all-in for $142.70 Uncalled bet of $0.00 returned to Hero Turn: ($375.40) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In) River: ($375.40) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In) Pot Size: $375.40 ($2 Rake) On the one hand I have AN OVERPAIR OMG but with these kinds of ridiculously wet boards I feel like I'm getting it in to a set, 2 pair, or some draw with even equity a very significant amount of the time. Due to the board texture and being out of position I feel like I can't really call and evaluate either. On the other hand the dude may think I was trying to run over the table, and people seem to get more wild in BvB pots to begin with so I feel like his range could be pretty wide here. Thoughts? Completely Standard? I would have given more thought to folding had I not just been so active at the table. |

With your history at the table I think this is standard.
Call is really no good since the board is so wet and so many cards either hurt our hand or are scare cards for his hand. I would have a really hard time finding a fold given your history at the table. Push seems like the way to go. |

I like it. He could have 99-JJ, A8, a combo draw or air just as much as a made hand.

I don't like. I think he has 2pair+ or a draw which your flipping against almost always. IMO if your being that aggressive then 99+ 3bets preflop.

[/ QUOTE ] I think his range is a LOT wider than this in a BvB battle when Hero has been running the whole table over. I wouldn't be surprised to see Villain raise with any piece of this board. |

The discussion might become affected by posting results. I would have posted without them. Just a thought, I don't know if it matters much.

I think the line is fine, but you should raise to $8-$10 preflop.

Re: 200NL - QQ in BvB on extremely wet flop.
these situations are difficult, you sum it up nicely when say you can't call and evaluate. he is doing this with air alot of the time, but won't call a push with air, so the shove by you is troubling in that there are not many hands that call that you beat.
on balance your defensive shove is probably best, it is difficult to fold a big overpair HU against an agressive player for 100BB, but the situation is marginal |
