Chicago to Vegas + Hotel(MGM grand)--Good Deal?
Just booked it its definitely a good deal but could I have done much better with one months notice?
I want to do this alot more often this is my eigth trip in 3+ years....I want to be going bimonthly eventually... *What I did- I went on Cheapovegas.com got a great deal on the room using a generic deal code good during the week(69$+tx a night)Im not a huge MGM fan but its got a good location plus a chill pokerroom and sports book so....its good for me if im on a budget which I am. (300 dollars all included for 5 days 4 nights) Used Cheaptickets/airline websites/orbitz/expedia and some other sites to comparison shop and got 227 tax incl NON STOP both ways on American for Monday morning and Sunday red eye(so I get the whole week with only 4 nights of hotel charges). Without any memberships in programs or frequent players clubs I think I did damn good...was $527 Tx Inc all included for an entire work week in Vegas plus solid lodging on the strip at a 4 star Hotel and two nonstop flights WHEN I precisely preferred them. Anyone think I could have done better? Tips? I wouldnt mind staying somewhere even a step down IF it was clean and on the strip so I was in walking distance of the pokerooms I like(Venetian/Mandalay Bay/Mirage/Bellagio/Caesar's....MGM...) Id love to be able to do it for like 400 bucks a week if possible and just make money bc I can easily cover that even if I run halfway badly at 2-5/1-3/5-10 NLH. |

Re: Chicago to Vegas + Hotel(MGM grand)--Good Deal?
i think that's an awesome deal. 250-300 is standard for a vegas trip, one months notice is very very good. 69 a night at mgm just seems so low. i think you did very well for yourself. a lot of nicer casinos charge 200+ a night.
