Default Do you Gambool?

Wilder than normal 20 game at the Woods. All of the pots are 4 or 5 way for 2 or 3 bets PF. There are 3 weak calling stations, a couple of LAG it up types and a few decent but not real good players. There have been some big pots and big hands. I had made a Royal at this table and been bet into. In another hand there was a MP raise and the BB defended. Board on the turn was {9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]},{7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]} and the action went, check, bet, c/r, call. River was 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Bet, raise, 3-bets, 4-bets, 5 bets, 6 bets, 7 bets, call. PF raiser shows 99 for quads and the BB shows J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the SF. Talk about a sick river card. Oh yeah in another hand the dealer put up a T high [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SF on board when 1 guy flopped a Q high flush and another guy held the A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. The SB whispers to me that he mucked the J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the flop.

Anyway weakie limps, decent 1 raises, decent 2 3-bets, weak gotta see the flop calls 3 bets cold, calling station calls 3-bets, blinds are loose "pot odds" kind of guys and you look down and see K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Do you Gambool or off to the muck with them?

If it were two bets its an easy call. Three bets its an easy fold.

i think i would try with this hand because it plays well multi-way. i trust the fact that you know when to continue with this hand and when not to continue, so thats not a question. you know just as well as i do, that in this game, the money is made after the flop.. and if you're waiting for a spot to get in for 1 bet before the flop you'll be sitting and waiting all night long the way this game plays sometimes.

The point at which you should not continue with this hand is when it's 3 bets to you preflop.

ok, you go play in that game, and sit in it for say 3 hours when its this good, and tell me when its not going to cost you 2-3 bets preflop at minimum, and then mix in when you even have a decent hand that plays well multi-way.. then we can talk.

you have to get in and play hands when the game is like this, otherwise you're there to contribute blinds and cant take advantage of why you're there.

KTs may play well multiway, but it plays poorly against a raise, and horribly against a 3-bet. If every pot is raised, that just means you'll have to play a lot tighter, it's not an excuse to loosen up. The hands you do play are guaranteed to be big pots, which will make up for the blinds you've given up.

i understand that, but you're missing my point.

my point being, that the pots are going to be raised and re-raised with crap anyways.. so your edge is still big if you can play post flop well. the foxwoods 20 is so passive at times its silly, so if you can read hands and value bet in multi-way pots its like a gold mine. so in order to take advantage you have to adjust your requirements and aspects to your game, understanding that your implied odds in a hand you make or a big draw is going to pay off big. so 3 sb's is not really that important, since the game is already such high variance even if you play just the nuts. i am one of the tighter players who play this game and even i have HUGE variance playing it even if the only thing i do for hours is come in and cold cap w/ a monster. it doesnt matter, its just taking advantage of the game when its this good. huge swings yes, but big return on investment.

I would call here. i'm not saying it's right or wrong it's just what I would end up doing if i was there. I think we can open Good player's 3betting range a bit here. It's a 4 bet cap right? Gamb00l Gamb00l.
