More please, not just a yes or no....I really dont ever like to go all in unless I am so short stacked that I am forced to, even AA is scary, yes you are a favorite, but chances are if you keep pushing all in before the flop with aces eventually someone will out draw you, I would prefer to see the flop and make sure there are there are no straight draws, or flush draws or pairs on board before I would feel comfortable going all in. OK now your thoughts?

OK now your thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] And I thought I was pretty bad at poker. Going all-in preflop is essential to winning. If you have AA, you are 80% to win. Why wouldn't you want to get all of your chips in there preflop? Make someone pay to play against you. Now don't get me wrong, there are spots where you don't want to go all-in preflop and there are times when pushing all of your chips isn't going to accomplish anything, but in general, putting all of your chips in preflop is a must. If you get upset because you go all-in preflop with AA and then get beat and you are saying that eventually you will get outdrawn on, you are being results-oriented. AA is a premium hand, but it is vulnerable. In the long-run, you'll win with AA 80% of the time. That is all you have to consider. And I'll say it again, don't be results oriented. It took me awhile to get over it and I'm still not, but I am accepting it more. I think I'm on my 4th or 5th bankroll try to get something going. I have alot to learn, but your question is fundamental. And as one poster said, you probably shouldn't play tournaments if you are thinking about this. |
