Having an external HD on you with movies etc - problem?
See title. Are they allowed to search my HD in airports etc?

Re: Having an external HD on you with movies etc - problem?
Don't know, just wondering. Got my new toy today, and I'm about to visit my folks in a few weeks, and the thought just came to mind.
I'm pretty sure they give you [censored] if they search you and find a bunch of $2 DVD's. These days a laptop, external HD or ipod seems the more efficient way to do this, so why wouldn't they? Only been searched twice and it was pretty thorough, but I didn't have any of the aforementioned on me at the time. Or do they only care about import taxes vs. copyright infringement? |

I dropped mine the other week and it broke. I had 500GB worth of movies and music gone. It cost 400 and sea gate wants 2k to recover data. woe is me.

They won't care/won't be able to figure out how to see what's on it. Long as it's not ticking or stuffed with drugs, you will have no problems.
