NL10 - flopped set, not sure what to do on turn
Villain is 35/0.5/0.85 over 300 hands, so very passive
I bet strong on the flop to cut the odds of anyone drawing to his flush. When the club did in fact come on the turn, I was pretty unsure of the best action to take. Re: NL10 - flopped set, not sure what to do on turn
I'd check behind and hope to boat up. This is often enough a flush or a straight that we don't want to get check raised. Plus UTG might bet worse hands on the river (QX, two pair) and allow us to call profitably.
OTOH, I always put people on a flush here, and I'm wrong enough to be leaving money on the table I'm sure. |

Re: NL10 - flopped set, not sure what to do on turn
No reason to automatically assume he has the flush and a str8 seems somewhat unlikely (J9 or 97). You are ahead more often than you are behind against a calling station who more often than not has some low pair or nothing here.
I bet 4 on the turn planning to get it all in on any non-club river. If he decides to raise, a call will put you all in. If that happens you are almost certainly behind but you will have 10 outs. The pot needs to offer you about 3.5 to 1 to call in that scenario. With less than 4 bucks left to bet into a pot of around 18 bucks, you have all the odds you need to draw. It's a crime to give a sucker a free card, so don't do it! |

Re: NL10 - flopped set, not sure what to do on turn
I would lead out around $3 on the turn. Fold to a check raise, especially this villain. If called, the plan is to check behind river on non-paired board, or call a reasonable bet.
