50/100 game on FTP. Scary Tiger has been playing pretty well, but running bad in the short time we have been playing. My image is probably that I am aggressive and decent since I havent done anything too boneheaded while playing with tiger. I have been winning and showing down some strong hands, and generally playing pretty well by my own standards.
I open-raise on the button with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB calls, Tiger calls in BB. (If I have a card wrong in this hand let me know tiger, it feels like i might have messed something up.) Flop J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB checks, Scary Tiger bets, I raise, SB folds, Scary Tiger calls Turn 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Tiger checks, I bet, he calls. River 5 offsuit: He checks, I bet, He checkraises, I 3bet, he calls. |

seems closer to a fold than a 3-bet

i think it is still just a call due to three jacks being seen and 87 being in his range. what does he have otherwise?

miles,
you really dont think he would checkraise the river with any hand that beat KJ or atleast any hand that beats QQ? He may have flopped two pair or a set, bet out and once i raised planned to checkraise the turn. A club came, he didnt want to scare me off a marginal holding by checkraising there so he called again. Finally the river is a blank, he then goes for the checkraise feeling like he is leaving money on the table against a pretty loose player like myself, who usually has no better than one pair. |

wow scary tiger has a nitty reputation if this 3bet is questioned... [/ QUOTE ] I'm not really sure about that - isn't a river C/R generally like the least player-dependant sign of strength? I mean you could argue he doesn't have a flush but it's less unlikely than AJ/KJ/QJ which I don't think ever get played like this... Nits & lags alike will C/R a river'd 2pair or better here. It sounds stupid because it's poker, but I don't really care that much who I'm up against here (unless you have a good 'flop donk range' read)...it seems like a simple math problem of weighing 2pair hands vs. straight. |

"weighing 2pair hands vs. straight."
yeah and hands that have 2pair have to donk/call the flop and check call the turn club. 95s no flush draw calls turn? J5 doesn't c/r flop? 65 donks a J96 flop 3-way and calls on that turn? 2handed said: "He may have flopped two pair or a set," i really doubt he played flopped two pair or a set this way on the flop or turn. only 87 makes sense. |
