Word to the wise, if you answered 'yes,' please reconsider if the girl's boyfriend is an obsessive, knife-wielding Turkish bodybuilder. Trust me.

I know you've posted this trip report before; would you mind linking it or at least giving a synopsis?

I think the key is if you're going to run into him every now and then due to similar friend circles or not, if you will see him every now and then then I say it's a no go.

imo it's the person who's in the relationships responsibility to not cheat, but if they're going to, why shouldn't it be with me?

I searched for a full story but I can't find it. It's been mentioned in passing a few times.

There was a girl I really liked. At the end of my sophomore year we hung out a few times and I put the moves on her. She had hooked up with this crazy guy who was about to be suspended for being a violent lunatic. This guy decides he's in love with her, sends her plane tickets to come visit him at home, etc. She kinda goes along.

Anyway, I sort of cast aside the notion that this is her 'boyfriend' and we hook up. By the way, I knew this guy from playing soccer with him, but we weren't really friends. We got along though. I thought he was sort of silly for chasing people around with knives, at the time I thought it was a bunch of cheap macho BS.

Fast forward to a few weeks into my junior year, me and this young lady have emailed a few times but not had any more contact. Psycho boyfriend reads her email and deduces what has taken place in his absence. He comes to my house with a chef's knife and finds me lying drunk on my couch in my underwear, having just watched a movie with a lady guest who is now in the bathroom.

Kinda weird ten minutes, but basically he came up behind me and put the knife to my throat and started yelling at me. Luckily my hand was curled up next to my face so the blade of the knife cut into the outside edge of my hand instead of my jugular. The point went into my shoulder (not too deep, I only have a small scar). There is a brief struggle and I get the knife away from him and he leaves - after apologizing for trying to kill me.

My guest and I decide that sleeping in this house after this incident is not a bright idea (I lived off campus at the time). After applying clean towels to my wounds we drive to a gas station and get bandages. On the way there we see my assailant's car all banged up in the middle of the road - turns out that he had flipped it and run off into the woods. He was on a lot of pharmaceuticals I believe.

For some reason I was paranoid and didn't want to go to the cops or the hospital. I was probably in shock and I have never liked cops or doctors. Irrational, yes. Luckily my injuries were not that serious, my hand probably should have been stitched up but I was lucky and neither cut got infected.

The next day my roommates (who were not home at all the day before) discovered this young lady's undergarments strewn around the house and nailed them to the wall with a humorous note. They didn't mention anything about me bleeding all over the foldout couch.

I did not report this incident; word got out when my assailant started telling people about it. The Dean of the school contacted me, I admitted what had happened and he was on a plane within a few hours of that.
