What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
Most people agree that if you make 2BB hour in limit your killing the game.
In a game like 1/2 NL what hourly profit is considered "Killing" the game? My guess is that 1/2 NL is about the financial equivilent of playing 4/8 limit so was guessing about $8-10 an hour is killing the game but was looking for confirmation on this. |

Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
just a wild guess, but i would think something more like an average of $20/hr would be 'killing' 1-2 nl at b&ms. i think the equivalent is higher than 4-8...probably more like 6-12.
my goal when i play is to make about $45-$50/hr playing 1-2 (i play for about 6-7 hrs sessions and my goal is $300 profit). I've been pretty good at doing this but if you factor in some bad days i think $20/hr is a reasonable expectation. also - i usually play at $100 max buy-in tables. if you are playing at a $300 table this changes things. |

Re: What\'s amount of profit is considered \"killing\" 1/2 NL?
The ones who can really play 1/2 NL will sustain about a 12-15/hr win rate over a long period of time. 2/5 Nl is more like 22-27/hr.
To ryan, 45-50/hr with your money management isn't going to last. |

Note that the OP asked what a "killing it" amount is, not a sustainable amount.

i thought he meant long term because beating a limit game for 2 BB/hr IN A SESSION is not killing it...

Yeah I guess I poorly wrote that question.
First off the NL game I play live is 1/2 NL 100 max. My question was more long term profit, what is considered killing the game. I was under the assumption that you can essentially equate 1/2 NL to a limit counterpart to figure out a bb/hour win rate. |

what do you mean by "with your money management" ??? [/ QUOTE ] I see this same stuff in the Psych forum where people always get up and leave when they are winning, but stay when they are losing. That's not a good reason to leave a game, which is money management I was referring to. The only reasons you should leave a game are time restraints, if the game is good or bad for you (could be great and you might be losing), game falls apart, dinner, ect... |

Here in AC all the buy-ins are $300 and I don't consider myself to be "killing" a game unless I'm in the 40-50/hr range. Anything lower is just good.
