22 set - Flop fold thoughts
UTG is solidish but calls too much 22/10 and too loose postflop but not very aggressive. Other guy is 30/15 and has 370 left on flop. Myself and the solid player have 1000 left on the flop.

Re: 22 set - Flop fold thoughts
Pretty sure I've never folded a set on anything but a monotone flop in a 10 way pot, so this seems pretty bad to me.

Re: 22 set - Flop fold thoughts
As long as he never flatcalls AA/KK with you left to act PF, I think you'll see 33/99 here ALOT. Ugh....dirty, he practically c/minraised. Tough Spot.

Re: 22 set - Flop fold thoughts
Surely this is an overpair as often is a set. Id push and not feel awesome about it but I think folding here is -EV in the long run.

Re: 22 set - Flop fold thoughts
not sure what minraises mean at these stakes.
Lower it seems to be "Got a big hand, please stay in the pot & call" other times its a weak 2pair or TPTK trying to get value without risking to much cash. Id say your ahead 50% here, folding isnt horrible but i'd say going all in is +EV longterm tbh. So many overpairs/draws just wonder if they'd be so aggro w/Overpair :\ |

I'd shove, fwiw. |

As played with 200BB+, a fold here is OK. I wouldn't do it though. Just wondering, do you fold 33 here? |

Re: 22 set - Flop fold thoughts
I could not fold this, but that is just me...
Additionally, I am not used to the 2/5 game so not sure if they are played much more aggresively etc... but here is my 2 cents... This is the first time I have really analyzed one of the hands in detail on this board, so I would like feedback on my analysis... Let's look at the preflop play... UTG raises 10% of the time preflop. He is UTG, would he really raise there with 33 (as a "passive" player probably not), 99 maybe... but most likely TT+ or A/K/Q suited. I would eliminate AA or KK because he would probably reraise when it came back to him if he was solid as you said. CO could have any above average hand with the preflop play just trying to position himself for post flop, but I doubt that it is 33 because I am not sure you raise in position preflop with it. Wouldn't you rather see the flop with 33 after a raise and a call? Even suited connectors may do something like this with position. So either could have 99, but I would pretty much rule out 33. Post flop... UTG, would he play a TT to QQ this way? I might, the raise is pretty much a min raise. So I say his range with the reraise is 99 to QQ or two hearts that are over cards. CO - he could still have virtually anything as the post flop could be a continuation of a "play." The bet is pot size and leaves him a little room to "walk away" if he has nothing. Thinking ahead... CO is almost pot commited if he has anything (assuming he has $225 left) even top pair or a flush draw, but I think he is "done." UTG would slow down with just an overpair, but perhaps push with a flush draw/trips if you just call. If you push, he would fold with over pair and would probably call with flush draw and two overs. He obviously calls with trips. In summary I think we are ahead way more than 50% of the time, even with two players, and with the odds that you have I think it is an easy call and perhaps even a push. What am I missing in the analysis? |
