Default Lest we forget - Hiroshima & Nagasaki

[ QUOTE ]
During a week of mayhem in Iraq, in which terrorists have rightly been condemned for targeting schoolchildren, it is sobering to recall that this week is also the 62nd anniversary of a U.S. attack that deliberately took the lives of thousands of children on their way to school in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As noted in the Strategic Bombing Survey conducted at President Harry Truman’s request, when the bomb hit Hiroshima on April 6, 1945, “nearly all the school children ... were at work in the open,” to be exploded, irradiated or incinerated in the perfect firestorm that the planners back at the University of California-run Los Alamos lab had envisioned for the bomb’s maximum psychological impact.

Yeah it's a shame they decided to attack pearl harbor huh ???

They attacked us first, Then we dropped some big bombs to end years of War across the globe.

It's wierd Terrorists attacked NY in kinda like pearl harbor fashion but we dont' do anything about it.

Anything reasonable other than lining Haliburton and KBR's pockets

"They attacked us first"

And this justifies killing hundreds of thousands of children?

OK, haven't read the whole thread yet. Has anyone suggested that the Arizona was sunk by explosives planted on board at FDR's order yet?

what a retarded video. Please won't somebody think of the children! Isn't the number of Iraqi civilian dead somewhere around 90,000? Who's drumming up this 500,000 children dead tripe?

edit:this is clearly before OIF, but still how can you place the deaths of these children on the heads of England, the US,etc?

you can't. This was in reference to the economic sanctions and SH stealing the food/medicine/aid sent for the citizens.

Thus spake the Clintonista...6+ years before more ignoring of sanctions and support for terrorism led to the war.

The war was a fait accompli when the Supreme Court elected Bush. Key members of the Bush administation had openly called for it.

Yes but it shortened the war. And a bluff wouldn't have worked. And neither would only 1 bomb. And they attacked us first. Feel free to insert your own rationalization for why it was ok to fry thousands of helpless children alive in their hometown.
