what does 86'd mean?
and if it just means "thrown out of" then where does the expression come from? |

Thought it was used when a sub was out of torpedos. Very commonly used in restaurants when they're out of food--cook or manager will tell staff "86 the lobster". |

The term 86'd goes back to the first restaurant Delmonicos. ... It was item 86 on their menu and was sold out one night, hence the term 86'd.

I witnessed the fight tonight and then played in the very same 75/150 O8 game. They weren't 86'd from the casino as both of them returned later. I have 90% of the story but I'm too tired to post it as I just got in from the Bellagio.
