poker league
Hello, I was hoping to get some feedback for the poker league that I am going to organize.
Intro I am planning to organize a year long poker league in college. There are 32 weeks and I am aiming for a league of 20 tournaments. There are around 20 players (8-9 of them being regular) that would be interested. The tournaments will consist of at least 6 players and at most 16 players. (maximum 8 players per table) Chip Distribution and the Blinds I have 500 chips to organize this event. (200 white, 100 red, 100 blue, 50 green, 50 black) I tried to come up with a chip distribution that would allow me to host a 16 handed game if needed. Starting stack of T2000: 10 x T10, 6 x T50, 6 x T100, 2 x T500 Blinds (15 mins) 20-40 30-60 40-80 50-100 60-120 80-160 100-200 150-300 200-400 300-600 400-800 500-1000 600-1200 800-1600 1000-2000 Point System and the Rewards I am going to use Dr. Neau's Formula (http://home.comcast.net/~twincitiesunderground/) in order to calculate the points. 10% of the buy-ins in each tournament will be kept to reward the top players at the end of the league. The winner will be rewarded with 7%. And the remaining 3% will be given to the player who wins the freeroll tournament that will be played between the top 6 finishers. The starting chip stacks of this freeroll tournament will be proportional to the points earned. |

Re: poker league
Use DIY poker tour to manage and track it online. Just input the results after each game and it will track all of stats on the leaderboard - it makes it so easy and it is free. http://www.diypokertour.com

Re: poker league
Thank you, I am going to check that site out. It sounds like a good idea.
Any one has any comments regarding the blinds or the rewards? Also the point system that I am going to use rewards participation (which is definitely what I want). However considering the number of total players (and the number of regular players) in the league do you think it would be better off to do something like "best X out of 20 tournaments" to calculate the points in order to attract wider participation? (In other words, I don't want to lose the non-regulars' attention completely) |
