Stars 3r. AK in SB with action in front of me
Sup 2+2. My first HH post so forgive me if I mess up the format or anything.
Ok im in the 3r on stars 603 places pay and 300 odd left. Got avg stack of about 50k when the following takes place Poker Stars, $3 + $0.30 NL Hold'em Tournament, 1,500/3,000 Blinds, 9 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter CO: 42,804 BTN: 38,520 Hero (SB): 56,076 BB: 97,527 UTG: 26,360 UTG+1: 7,484 UTG+2: 14,403 MP1: 52,633 MP2: 86,231 Pre-Flop: (7,200) K A dealt to Hero (SB) 2 folds, UTG+2 raises to 14,103 and is All-In, MP1 calls 14,103, 3 folds, Hero raises to 55,776 and is All-In, BB folds, MP1 calls 38,230 and is All-In Basically I wake up with AKo in SB. UTG+2 who lost a big pot a few hands ago open shoves their remaining 14k. MP1 nexts to act flat calls. Based on history at that table, MP1 limps small PPs and calls reraises, or just flat calls other peoples raises never actually reraising. Folds around to me and I shove for a few reasons. 1)AK has to be ahead of the UTG+2s range 2)Thought I have FE against MP+1 (not sure now i think back at it) 3) If I get called I still have some equity So question is. Is shoving here good or bad? Any alternatives to shoving? Thanks |

Re: Stars 3r AK in SB
ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY MUST SHOVE for other reasons:
1. you dont have a huge stack and ak is a big hand 2. you cant flat call w this stack and then check fold. you need to see 5 cards. if you aren't playing ak what are you playing? this is a big pot waiting for you to take. you must take these good gambles in tourns. |
