When exactly did Sportscenter start to become unwatchable?
Discussion has been made already about how this 'Who's more NOW' ridiculousness is just the most recent example of how Sportscenter is making it self more and more unwatchable.
But when did SC 'jump the shark'? I know it's been bad for a few years now, but I remember ~15 years ago as a kid, I'd look forward to going on vacations with the family just so I could stay in a hotel room with ESPN so I could watch Sportscenter. It might just be I liked SC back then only because we didn't have cable at home, but I don't think so. I'm pretty sure it was because it was just flat-out better than it is now. But I can't figure out what signalled the start of the downhill trend of SC.. any ideas?

that who's now thing just puts me on retard tilt. i can't even believe they do that.
i don't have cable and i still turn it on when i'm at a motel or something and am shocked at how dull it is, how stupid the segments are, how bad the calls are on the highlights, just basically everything about it sucks balls.

a few days ago i was watching cause i mean what is there to do at 5 pm on a wednesday and something snapped inside me when neil everett is literally just yelling during the opening montage and im pretty sure i'm never watching sportscenter ever again. seriously who the [censored] thinks screaming is a good way to introduce the show

I of course will return to sportscenter during football season. I always make sure to watch it every sunday night after the Jaguars win and make sure I don't watch it on the sunday's they lost.

When SC started pushing agendas and sports based on their broadcast rights and relationships, as opposed to simply reporting the results and providing analysis in a straightforward yet humorous way.

But the huge sportcenter mythology that developed from people loving them like they did in the early years will last them a very long time.
