First time in Vegas/America......Nightlife primer?
Hey guys! I'm heading out to Vegas from the UK in a week with a few university mates to play a wsop event or two and party hard in between! We're there for 2 weeks so have plenty of time to check out a lot of different spots, so....here are a few questions I have about Vegas nightlife:
- Which clubs are the best on what days? - What sort of prices to the clubs charge for entry/booze? - Where can i dance like a drunken fool?! - Good bar recomendations? - Strip bars? - Where can I go to checkout some good live music? My music tastes are mega broad, i love everything from old school rock n' roll to punk rock, from blues to hip-hop! I've heard talk of duelling piano bars? Those sounds fun! - Any other Vegas nightlife tips? Sorry about the bombardment of questions! CWilly |

My recommendation would be to get nicely liquored up at a casino/casino bar, and then head to a club. (Note: taxi) Drinks at the popular clubs run anywhere from $9 - $18 or even higher. Others can give you more advice on specific places to go.

Re: First time in Vegas/America......Nightlife primer?
Hey my first trip will be on June 29 but I have done some research with friends and also these 2+2ers who have been helpful. Go to vegas.com for info on nightlife. They sell passes for front of line and vip stuff. I heard the beach is amazing. tao, rain, ghostbar, and light are good.
I agree with playing poker at low stakes and just drinking there prior to clubs. Does anyone know the drink selection at the casinos? Is it bottles of beer and any liquor? What about red bull and jaiger? Thanks. |

[/ QUOTE ] I only know what I can get in the poker rooms which is probably less than the pit in most cases and it varies a lot between rooms. Red Bull is usually only available at the higher end places, Wynn, MGM, probably Bellagio. Same thing with beer. You can get something like Newcastle at MGM or Wynn, but I couldn't even get a Corona at Sahara. I had to settle for Michelob. |

Check that out! I went on one of these a while back and it was a blast! For $50 they get you into 3 hot clubs, no waiting in line, no paying cover, shots on the bus. It's a great time. |

TI has a dueling piano bar. I know because you can hear the uproar from the poker room sometimes. The rest :shrugsshoulders:

Most of the clubs frown on groups of guys greater than two not bringing any girls into the clubs with them. Try to meet up with some women prior to going into the club. Go to Pure at Caesars. As for Strip Clubs go to Olympic Gardens ro Spearmint Rhino.

Re: First time in Vegas/America......Nightlife primer?
Go to Vegas.com and read up on all the nightlife and listen to the advice on here. Decide which clubs you'll be going to and buy the VIP passes. You don't want to stand in line for 2 hours and waste half the night. Like a poster above said, meet up with some girls and get them in with your VIP passes. Most of the higher end clubs frown on groups of guys and you might have a tough time getting past the velvet rope.
Oh... and Spearmint Rhino is a can't miss on the strip clubs. |

- What sort of prices to the clubs charge for entry/booze? [/ QUOTE ] Expensive. Really expensive. $20-50 cover, $12 for beer $15-20 for mixed drinks. [ QUOTE ] - Where can i dance like a drunken fool?! [/ QUOTE ] Anywhere you want. Really. Cept maybe in the middle of the street. [ QUOTE ] - Good bar recomendations? [/ QUOTE ] Multiple in every hotel. [ QUOTE ] - Strip bars? [/ QUOTE ] Spearmint Rhino and its not even close. If you arrive by taxi, they will charge you $20 or $30 cover though. $8 beers, $20 laps, $200 VIP half hours. It's worth it. [ QUOTE ] - Where can I go to checkout some good live music? My music tastes are mega broad, i love everything from old school rock n' roll to punk rock, from blues to hip-hop! I've heard talk of duelling piano bars? Those sounds fun! [/ QUOTE ] There are the piano bars at Harrahs and I think at NYNY. They are generally free provided you drink there. I'd hit the new club outside IP...beach rockhouse or something. They have a midget KISS coverband. And then stroll over to Harrahs. The piano bar is just to the left of the entrance. Come to think of it, they also have a large area just outside Harrahs that has cover bands. Also there are free cover bands on the Fremont Street Experience on Friday and Saturday nights. |
