NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
I ran into this guy in a $33 SNG on Stars. He was definitely the best player I have run into in $33s, probably better than anyone I've encountered in the $100s as well, but it seemed to me that once the blinds got to 100+ his play became sub-par at best. This is a hand from his perspective, I'm curious as to if anyone can make sense of it. He had a 15% ROI @ 33s.

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
looks like a pretty classic stop and go to me. he knows you're raising with a wide range, so he calls and shoves any flop. you miss 2/3 of the time and aren't going to call this with king or queen high, so i don't think it's a huge leak at all.
disclaimer: i've played like 10 SNGs in my life |

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
a player is dealt a PP 1/8 ( if im not mistaken) , so most of the time you are going to have two unpaired overcards, that will not make a pair or better 2/3's of the time, therefore i wouldnt say his shove is a huge leak... i personally wouldnt do it without any draw or real opportunity to improve my hand..

I wouldn't exactly call this a stop and go .
In fact , he has enough fold equity to shove all in . |

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
Jay, I am not great at math, but it seems to me that call pf/shove flop is a better line than 3bet shove pf versus certain opponents who will fold high cards here.
OP (and others), I know you would not have raised with 32o here (hopefully), but assuming you get to this flop and villain shoves for the same amount, are you calling? Why or why not? If that scenario is too unrealistic to think through, how about K2o-type hands? |

Re: NLTRN - This is a major leak right?
Well maybe it's true because it's hard to assess how much fold equity you have, if any , against this opponent .Like you said , much of it depends on your opponent's reaction to your shove .
If you had slightly more chips , then I would definitely say the shove is better because your fold equity makes up for it . I think the best line would have been to fold j-4 because you're likely to pick up two better hands on your next deal . So if the play would work with j-4 , then it should also work on your next hand too ! |
