Is there any way I\'m wrong here?
I flop bottom set on the flop. I lead the action on all streets, with turn and river headsup with me and the player to my immediate left. After a relatively large river bet/call, my opponent says "If you have AK you win." Since I beat AK, I show him my set without tabling it. He instamucks, I table the hand.
Nobody said anything, but could a player not in the hand have an issue? At the time I just thought it was good form to let my opponent know he lost first, but I pretty much voided the other players rights to ask to see all hands. |

He called you - he doesn't have to show if he doesn't want to...

Re: Is there any way I\'m wrong here?
I didn't ask him to show, but in this room any of the other 8 players could have asked. There is no limit on how many times and no required accusation of collusion. Many players frequently ask for information purposes only. Your statement that he doesn't have to show is just factually wrong in this case.
I preempted him having to show his cards by showing him the winner first. |

You stated you led the betting on all streets.
You bet. He calls. You show first, period. |

Re: Is there any way I\'m wrong here?
I think it's more correct to say I table first period. If I was across the table from him, I just table it first. Since I was next to him, I showed him, let him muck, then tabled.

I play lower limits, but I usually just show my hands after the action is closed

If all players show down in proper turn, there is no need for you to show your cards if you know you have a loser.

Re: Is there any way I\'m wrong here?
your wrong, but not for the reason you think. This nonsense about "there right to see all hands" is crap.
But you are wrong for wasting everybodies time. You could have just tabled your hand and had the same outcome. In this case it may not have made a big difference in time since you say he instamucked, but far to often at show sdown you get this nonsense with peope showing each other their cards and playing games when they could have just tabled their hand or mucked their hand and let the dealer finish the hand and get the new one up and running. |

What do you think you were 'supposed to do'? If you had shown just him your hand, he mucked, and then you mucked without showing the rest of the table, yes, players would have issues. |
