With that many callers, a good raise is necessary. You are defining that you hae a strong hand, and you should be. Obviosly, it didnt define aces, because villian humped in with you!

Re: NL25 - This is standard play with AA? Too agressive preflop?
I really like the raise pre flop. IMO its not possible to be too aggressive with monsters pre flop at these low levels. In your position preflop, I would exactly what you did, but i would also consider just going all in.
I wouldnt worry too much about giving your hand away at these levels, 90% of the players are thinking (if at all) on level zero. Dont out-think yourself here, there is absolutely no need to overcomplicate things at NL25. If you have a monster - bet like you have a monster. Well played anyway, I wouldnt muck around with the 3/4 size bet on the flop, just get it in. |

Thanks for the positive comments, great to hear I am playing it good. I was going to put him all in on the flop but then I thought why not just bet $7 and see if that goads him into raising all in with his AJ/ whatever.

[ QUOTE ]
i would also consider just going all in. [/ QUOTE ] because there was a min-raise and three callers, and that´s enough to hope for one of them coming along (micro limits specific). Remember the more you bet, the less often they have to call to make you the same longterm profit. Best of all, sometimes you´ll get lucky enough to get your second AA, same table, same situation, see what happens then! |
