Lost oop w/ overpair (QQ)
Villain seems solid over a small sample (~30 hands), running about 24/18/3. As for me I have been nitty so far on this table running about 16/12 over the same number of hands. Villain isn't at any of my other tables and I have never played with him before.

Re: Lost oop w/ overpair (QQ)
shove, he's only got $100, he's calling w/ any piece
edit: also the flop 3bet is good vs. fish, but not good vs. a solid player when you have a tight image... i'd just call... not too many draws |

I don't see any option but shoving here. [/ QUOTE ] The only hand you are beating is 46, just cuz hero messed up the flop doesnt mean he should screw up the turn. This is all assuming villain is solid. If he is a fish, shove and profit. |

Re: Lost oop w/ overpair (QQ)
After he called the flop 3 bet I figured I was toast and I check folded to his turn shove.
I agree that the 3 bet was probably not a wise move against this opponent. At the time though I felt like calling would put me in a tough spot if he fires a second barrel on the turn. By 3 betting the flop I still left myself enough to get away from the hand if he 4 bet all in. However, by simply calling he really put me in a tough spot as I had to act first on the turn. If I had just called the flop minraise what would would be a good line from there? Check fold just seems so weak and calling down sucks as well. Perhaps lead the turn and fold to a shove? |

Re: Lost oop w/ overpair (QQ)
min raise on a dry flop by a good player at thsi level, who doesn't expect you to lay down a hand you raised from UTG is mostly either a bluff (20-30 %) or a strang hand that is not afraid to keep you in and want s to increase the size of the pot :set
