Default When did FTP support start sucking?

So, I am in Australia studying abroad and have to connect to the internet using a proxy connection (for everything). I e-mailed FTP about a month ago asking for helping in connecting to the proxy with FTP, they told me to talk to my network admin (wtf does he know about modifying FTP connection settings). So, I switched to PS for a while because they were actually willing to help me make the needed changes. Anyways, I have been playing more tournamnets lately so I thought it would be nice to be able to play on FTP as well. I e-mail them 4 days ago asking them to please try and help me... today 4 days later I get an e-mail saying they can't release info related to my account since I didn't use my registered e-mail. Even though I never even told them my sn, let alone asked about anything related to personal information. How the hell does it take 4 days for them to respond with this bullsit? I know PS has awesome support, but I never knew FTP support was so bad. Anyways I have now sent them an e-mail from my registered e-mail and will wait the 4+ days for them responding to say they can't help me.

Basically, has anyone else dealt with FTP being totally useless when it comes to their technology support team? I know this is a rant, but I think FTP really needs to step it up, unless they prefer being totally dominated by PS. By the way, I didn't really even play on PS before this, so I entered into this situation biased in favor of FTP if anything.

I just singed up with them recently and it seems their support was a little slow but decent, they responded to all my queries within 24 hours.
