Default 200: Situation PF

Here's a little scenario I'd like to hear some thoughts on:

I'm otb with KK and $180

UTG opens for $8. He's short starting with $79.

+2 is why I'm at the table. He's deep, extremely loose and quite passive and cals.

The Co is a tighty and calls

What's your raise size and why?

Is this live or online? Live, I would think probably $50. Online, I'd make it $38.

Ahh just saw that this was online.... My above post is kinda void then hahah...

Our goal should be to make a sizeable enough reraise that UTG will push over top... This also is a possitive is UTG doesnt come over the top for their remaining stack but we get the terrible player to call a large reraise which will allow us to get the stacks in easier postflop vs them.

It allows you to shove over UTG's AI if thats what he does and isolate him with dead money vs. anyone that just coldcalls. It's also just a little under pot so its not an overbet or anything.

That's what I'm after. Only problem is that UTG is left with $71. This is at FT where, apparently, UTG must make a full size reraise in order to allow me to pop it. So, $38 is too high here. It can't be any more than $35.

It said $79 in the OP, but you're doing the math wrong. You only reraised $30 because the initial raise was to $8. A min raise from him would be to $68 so putting in $71 would be enough to give you the option.

Here I would make my reraise enough to put UTG all-in...
