basic question (for a newbie)
$50 on party both villian and I have 60 dollars behind us. He has made $4 dollar raises with 22.
UTG limps, he is a bad player who calls pot sized bets with bottom pair. I raise to $4 with QQ, and he reraises making it 10 to go. What is my plan the rest of the hand and why. |

Re: basic question (for a newbie)
I would fold, limp re-raises especially from terrible players usually means that they were "slowplaying" a hand preflop (I don't need to explain how stupid that is.) I play with it all the time in my home games. I pretty much routinely fold to limp re-raises or minbet/re-raise without KK or AA.

[/ QUOTE ] If you were deeper stacked, I'd advocate a call for set value; you're done on a flop that doesn't come Q-high. I think it safe to assume that any limp-reraise means aces or kings from any player whom you haven't seen show down a lesser hand. I also disagree with the replier. The limp-reraise can be a very profitable play in a loose & aggressive game with many pots being raised & reraised preflop behind you. |

Re: basic question (for a newbie)
Most donks that make this play however, arent doing based on game conditions. They are doing because, well, they are donks.

This is not a standard line by any means. Remember, also, that a LRR completely gives away your hand (unless you're engaging in some kind of mind-boggling Shania JTs L-RR), so if you're going to do it, you must reraise to an amount that ensures that, should you somehow see a flop, you can open-push it no matter what comes and be correct to do so. As for kings... see queens advice above, seriously. I'm not sure I have a L-RR hand anywhere in my 100,000+ pokertracker database that wasn't aces or kings. If you've got two kings, it's overwhelmingly more likely that the L-RRer has AA. |

Re: basic question (for a newbie)
Ya, I folded but I felt like a huge wuss for it. And I did almost call for set value. What would you do with two kings in this spot?

Seriously, If I sat down at a 1c/2c game, I couldn't fold QQ preflop, because I couldn't care enough about $1. I assume you are practicing for HSP because it plays like NL50 :-) |
