25-50 hu intersetingish spot
villian is playing very tight hu, and i've been the aggressor. I've shown down a few big bluffs. While he's not super loose, he is a thinking player and wants to win pots.
I'm mostly interested in turn/river thoughts. Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $25/$50 2 players Converter Stack sizes: SB: $6518.75 Hero: $8121 Pre-flop: (2 players) Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB raises to $150, Hero raises to $400, SB calls. you bet because your line makes no sense and he'll look you up with whatever.

put the rest in, he will probably call you with lots of hands he checks behind if you check.

I like the turn. River is def a bet, I think checking it would be pretty bad.

solid cbet on turn; I think c/c is the optimal river play here but during game flow, I probably go ahead and lead for 2/3ish of the pot.

Re: 25-50 hu intersetingish spot
I think the turn bet's solid. Going for the C/R could fold out two pair + FD type hands that we want to keep in and is also bad from a metagame standpoint. The sizing's good as well, as it still looks somewhat weak and may encourage him to come over the top with trips.
On the river, my first instinct was to make it a little less than half the pot, but I think that actually looks stronger against a tight thinking player, as it really looks like you hit the queen and he may fold a 4. I think you should just go for the shove, repping a bluff on the spade river and hope he looks you up with a bluff-catcher. Checking the river's pretty bad IMO as KK + clubs is about the only hand that might want to bluff as trips will almost always be happy to check behind. |

i bet river. most hands that could call you aren't going to bet it if you check.

Re: 25-50 hu intersetingish spot
Turn bet is fine, he must know you'll be two or three-barrelling a lot. On the river I bet about $3500 and call a shove, but I'm very curious as to what he's taken to the river here without any aggressive action at all.

Re: 25-50 hu intersetingish spot
betting river makes no sense here IMO... so few people triple-barrel bluff these days that I really don't think you are going to be looked up by anything other than the nut flush or raised by flopped 44xx, Q4xx or QQxx... I think that his hand range is far more polarized towards the latter upon second consideration. thinking players don't tend to float your turn bet in this spot with weak holdings from my experience.. pretty curious in the results now..

Re: 25-50 hu intersetingish spot
I two ball here sometimes and might even three ball, so I think I might get called pretty light. I was also worried about the 44/q4/qq trio, but thought any 4 was possible, as well as KK with clubs and like AQxx with clubs.
I let time run out and then put out about $3400 and villian automucked... we'd been pretty friendly and in chat he claimed to have had clubs that picked up a wrap, which I have no reason not to believe. Really not sure if he would've put in a bet at the end or not, if I'd given up. |
