Default 50K Buy-in WSOP H.O.R.S.E Tourney

I cant believe they are adding a 50k buy in horse tourney to the 2006 wsop. I mean, no tourney buy in has ever exceeded 10k and now HORSE is drawing 50k, surprising

I assume you mean no tourney at the WSOP has exceeded 10k. I just hope they televise it well and show EVERY game evenly.

Actually, the WPT has a $25,000 buy in event every year for the last few years. I think that its great to finally get some bigger buy-in tourneys. The "big" tourney buy ins have not changed in the last 30 years. The $10,000 buy-in for the first WSOP in 1970 would have cost $50,000 in today's dollars. And HORSE is a perfect game to crown a poker champion. In fact, the infamous "big game" at the Bellagio is played as a mixed game. To me, a poker champion isn't the guy who knows one game really well. Its the guy who can take you on in any poker game and come out on top. I'm very excited about this event.

There wasnt a 10,000 tourney event in 70 it was a cash game and the 71 tourney was 5,000, it wasnt until 72 that it was bumped up to 10,000 for the big one. Just thought i would drop some knowledge on that subject. Anyway I think its great that they are doing this HORSE event. I hope that it eventually takes the place of main event only in the fact of crowning a "world champion of poker" A"world champion" of poker should be able to play all forms of poker well just not excell at one.

It would suck if they had finally got this tournament going but made the blind levels completely crapshootish.
