Is raising too thin ?
Villain is a 47/19/1.27 donk with a river AF of 5. My image is probably pretty poor because I have been isolating him a lot recently and I've been taiking the pots down on the flop for the most part.
No IQ poker 2.00/4.00, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker Button Hero ($400.00) SB hokie2 ($200.40) BB ElPurco ($400.00) UTG TRIBNIB1 ($299.00) UTG+1 vanyatka ($576.40) CO Villain ($389.25) Dealt to Bors1g [10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]] Preflop: , 2 folds, Villain raises to 16.00, Hero calls 16.00, 2 folds. Turn (126.00) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero checks. River (126.00) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain bets 56.00, Hero raises? If so, how much and what if he shoves? |

Re: Is raising too thin ?
too thin, me thinks. unless you think a 4 calls you, then go for it.

Re: Is raising too thin ?
I like a raise to $148 or so. If he shoves, jus fold. It looks like this is a blocking bet or maybe he wants you to bluff, and he has like A9, TT, or JJ. I'd raise/fold this riv a LOT.

Re: Is raising too thin ?
against this donk i wouldn't.
however against a good, hand-reading, thinking player i think a river raise can be pretty sexy here. it's so hard for you to have a good hand here. the missed draws overwhelm the rare 33, 44, or random Q that got there (which your opponent can't expect you to raise anyway). so a good hand-reader may do a lot of "bluffcatching" here |

Re: Is raising too thin ?
yea i think you can get away with a small raise (fold to a 3bet obv) but calling is definitely a reasonable option. if villain has reason to think you bluff too much, a raise looks better. if he respects you/thinks you're a nit, call is better.
