30/60 O8 -- live
villain in hand can be very spewy and when tired puts in tons of bets w/2nd best; both by calling off and betting. we've been playing for about 14 hours so we're both tired.
however, he's been playing pretty strong O8 the last hour and not dumping chips. i view him as weak/spewy but he's probably too inexperienced to think of his image from my perspective. he's also french so he's probably retarded. . . . 7 handed, folded to him on teh button, he raises, SB folds and i 3bet BB w/AK35 w/diamonds, he 4 bets, i call. flop: 358, one diamond. i lead, he raises, i call. turn: black 5. i check, he bets, i c/r, he thinks and calls. river: offsuit 2. i check, he bets, i c/r, he 3 bets. . .call or raise? |

Whoa......... now is that nice? I think he had AA2x and thought you may have also had A2, of course maybe his X was a 4 - I'd raise anyway. |

Re: 30/60 O8 -- live
Wow. I'd just be check/calling down every street post-flop.
Why does everyone want to raise? edit; also where is this 30/60 o8 live game? |

Re: 30/60 O8 -- live
Ok. You are a lot better off betting the flop than check/calling both for the hand at hand and for your overall game. More good things happen more often for the aggressor.
What do we think his range is from his flop raise? A2 A23, A234, any 4? What was he raising with PF & OTF that was helped by the Turn card? Why did he slow down? I still think his most likely holding is A234 or A24x. I don't see anything wrong with you calling, but don't mind a raise at all. I am curious as to the result. |

Re: 30/60 O8 -- live
flop lead is key as inexperienced players get a little crazy w/AAxx preflop and now my high hand is concealed.

Re: 30/60 O8 -- live
this is really close, but i'm leaning towards raising, and mainly only because A25 just made a full house on the river, and we 3/4 that hand, and i think that hand is a substantial part of his range given his description. he sounds like the kind of player who will go nuts with a semi-strong two way hand, and A25 falls into that category.
he has to have a very specific hand to scoop you, so i'd raise, and expect to 3/4 him much more often that him scooping you, but the vast majority of the time i think he shows you a wheel and you chop. |
