25NL an experiment with table image. (2 hands)
Hand 1 is the setup. I fold this with no problem usually, but given the 3-1 odds and the chance to play with table image, I call.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) UTG+1 ($9.80) MP1 ($24.40) MP2 ($15) CO ($23.65) Button ($23.30) SB ($23.75) Hero ($29.50) UTG ($34.50) Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $0.25. UTG calls $0.25, 2 folds, MP2 (poster) checks, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero raises to $1.75, UTG calls $1.50, MP2 calls $1.50, SB calls $1.50. Flop: ($7) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero bets $4.5, UTG folds, MP2 raises to $13.25, SB folds, Hero calls $8.75. Turn: ($33.50) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) River: ($33.50) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Final Pot: $33.50 I know the "right" play is to fold on the flop, but is there good value in creating a maniac image? Immediately after this hand is this one. My question is, if I shove here (given the previous hand) how good is my equity against hands that call me? Can I expect to see things like KQ, QJ, JJ, TT, 99 here or is this only getting called by better? I look forward to hearing your thoughts! |

2 Hands does not a table image make
Especially when they aren't even the same |

shoving the second hand would be so so bad. Getting it in isn't necessarily bad, but do it in chunks.

Re: 25NL an experiment with table image. (2 hands)
Berge, I agree here, but if I see something that looks crazy and then the very next hand I see something similar, it's going to affect my play. I'd like to think that even the dullest person can remember what happened the hand before (especially if it went to SD and I lost to A2)
Called down. Agreed. To continue what actually happened... BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $2.50, BB calls $2.50 MP1 raises to $6.50. I'm playing my usual game, this is an easy fold. Same case here? How much should I be adjusting? |

people don't pay enough attention at nl25 to make crazy plays a smart idea

Re: 25NL an experiment with table image. (2 hands)
The first hand is terrible regardless of pot odds. Three others saw the flop with you, somebody has an ace. There are other ways to create an image without making terribly -ev plays...did you muck when you lost? Cuz not everybody's going to see your hand.

Chargers, I made sure to show as I doubted that anyone would really go out of their way to look.
Bottomset: At what limits should I start thinking about things like this? |

Re: 25NL an experiment with table image. (2 hands)
I think you should start trying to seriously work on your game when you are at 25NL but it comes a point where you still need to stick with the basics and don't stray from them too far. As you move up you will develop. I agree with all above posters. 25NL isnt the place to make a maniac image by CALLING in a situation in the first hand. If you want a decent image raise a few times PF people will call you down a little more. I also agree 2 hands arent going to give you a serious image. And images are for regs...if there are no regs at the table play it straight up.
