Just got back from a Vegas trip a couple days ago, and one thing it reminded me is that I really don't much enjoy playing hold 'em live. The action's slow, you don't get in that many interesting deep stack situations, and in general I'm just not as good at hold 'em as I am at PLO.
Anyway, I was thinking about taking another poker trip before too long, and I was wondering where the best place is to go. Is it pretty much just Tunica as far as the US is concerned? Would my best move be to just take a trip to Europe if I'm looking for a really juicy game? I'd be looking to play at the $5/$10 to $10/$20 level or whatever the equivalent is in Euros. |

just go during a big tourney, any of the EPTs should have good cash games (maybe not Deauville, though I think that is off the list this year). If you don't go for a festival you will get a game in Dublin, London, France, probably Amsterdam and probably others, but the action isn't guaranteed to be good.
Probably the same if you go to something like a WPT event in the States, though I don't know from experience. |

There are no 4-card PLO tables here in Paris but all the games played in the PL dealers' choice tables are omaha-based. If you can play hi-lo, you can play all the games these guys play, reasonably juicy and everyone's overly bluff-happy. The stakes are e5-5 and upwards, there's a limit e200-400 dealers' choice game also if that's within teh bankroll.

Are they still playing things like courcheval, or whatever the 5-card game is?
What exactly are they playing away from holdem these days? |

Most major tournaments in the US have PLO side games. You can probably find a game in Mississippi, Detroit, and Chicago. I think it is regularly spread in London and Dublin, and probably elsewhere is Europe.

It's spread pretty much every night in every Dublin cardroom, and the games can get pretty big. As far as I know it's also very big in Cork, and you can nearly always get a decent omaha game in the Vic in London.
If you're playing in Dublin play in the Fitwilliam Card Club friday night. |

Caesar's Indiana runs a 5/10/25 PLO on Wednesday & Friday nights, big game, regulars most of the time, but some of the NLH guys are starting to take stabs there.

Last night in the Caesars game there was a 40k pot, so the game runs pretty big. Everyone buys in ultra deep to make it a good game.

[/ QUOTE ] Casino Aztar in Evansville also runs 5-10 PLO a few times a week (I think Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons). I've never played it, but it plays pretty big as well. I suspect there are some players who play both this game and the game at Caesar's. Is there anyplace in the US that spreads live PLO for smaller stakes (i.e. the PLO equivalent of a 1/2 NLHE game)? |

And if I wanted to travel to europe for just a few days of the best possible action at the 5-10 euro level (deep stacks) this summer, when and where would it be? |
