too big to back out?
I wasn't even going to be in this hand but I had position and was suited with just a Q high and no kicker.
But then the pot started getting so big that all my reading of SSHE esp. (I remember Miller) said hang in there. Would you have backed out? I think the pot was laying me odds to continue or was it? Re: too big to back out?
Fold the flop with TPNK and already a bet, raise, and call in front of you.
[ QUOTE ] But then the pot started getting so big that all my reading of SSHE esp. (I remember Miller) said hang in there. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, you should probably look it up and see what he really said. |

Re: too big to back out?
I was being laid 7 to 1 odds on the flop. Since I wasn't drawing to the nut flush I'm not sure how to estimate my outs.
Miller said in SSHE pgs 149-150 in the section "Continuing When You Might Be Drawing Dead" "In large pots you should often continue even when your winning chances appear grim...Consequently, if the pot is big, you should be relatively certain that you are drawing dead before you fold." And the other comments about raising the river, I agree. After the turn cap I was thinking I was up against the nut(or K)flush and was thinking I was beaten and not thinking I had the best hand to raise. |
