33$ - setmining ..? no, i know he\'s weak
Hi, how you like?
villain is no reg and my hand has pretty decent equity here, right? Once I raise, do I have to call a push? pre-flop is fine, but you'd really want to spike a set here and not a straight draw with a FD out there. Id be happy that Btn donk betted, giving me a cheap chance to draw at the straight. I dont like a check/raise against a clear donkey (he made 2 weird/bad bets). If Btn would be a regular and bet 1/3 pot, you could reraise to 500.. that id like alot more.
You certainly do not call a push here. |

But fishes will push any kind of overcards&draws here?
I thought just calling would give up some value since we are very very likely ahead, esp. with this betsizing.. |

Re: 33$ - setmining ..? no, i know he\'s weak
there is no reason to risk losing your Valueble chips to a fish who will donk his chips off most likely later on in the tourney. Remember that the chips of a good player are worth more equity in the price pot then the chips of a bad player. Hit your hand, then let him donk off his chips to you. And in this spot you get a good price to hit your hand, so take it.
Also you cannot say enough from his betsizing, only that he is a donkey. He might do that with 74o or he might aswell "slow-play" aces. Thats the hard part of donkeys, you dont know what your up against. |

I just call the flop bet, but of course that doesn't mean calling is right.
It's very tempting to raise his bet because samll bets like that and especially minbets often means he has crap. But I don't know it could easily be an overpair also, you checked to him. I don't think you are ahead enough to make a big pot like this this early. He made a mistake by betting so little, exploit taht by calling and hitting your straight or set I'd say. |

I would probably just call, because his bets will usually be small on the turn/river also and you can call those too and usually win either UI or by improving, and fold when he makes a bigger bet. I don't like the idea of getting blown off your draw if he actually has a hand here.

Since he gives me the odds to call on the flop, I do that.

I dont like reopening the betting here in level 1 when given the right price on my hand, while your hand has decent equity, it also has a decent range that beats it, given the action. Donks make all kinds of 1/4th pot 'milking' bets and stuff - their reasoning is probably 'I dont want this guy to fold, my hand is too good.'
