I wonder what plays this way that we beat? I hope this unknown is a bad player, otherwise you probably lost this hand if you called, to AJ or a set.

I'm thinking the same thing, what are we ahead of here unless he is a very bad player? But 2/4, who knows, maybe he really likes AQ or making a bad bet with a set. I'd raise more preflop. Then I'd pop on flop. He took control. Pop back, find out now. Problem with as played, is basically why you posted, we have no idea if you're good or not.

I would probably fold with no reads and that overbet on the turn is just stupid, i really doubt its a/q there.

"no reads" brings always questionable decision, but I call this. I don't think AJ could have called our raise preflop and (as someone else just pointed out) I doubt strongly someone would have played a set THAT fast.
From the action I see (is that on Pokerstars btw?) that looks like a duplicate of our hand, played quite badly.

Raising on the flop would have led to the very same outcome (stacks in the middle). Since the board is not drawy and there is a (slim) chanche he is hanging himself with his own hands I say: just call the flop.

I folded the hand for two main reasons,

I was involved in two other big pots on other tables (which is always annoying) and then only had 20 secs to act. I tried to think of the hands I was beating and I couldnt think of any apart from AQ which i cant see playing this way.

He mucked and then later on I ran into him on another table...
