I've read up a bunch on Razz in tournament play and 6 handed, but I'm lacking info on heads up play, and short handed play.
Does the idea that 8 low starting is still a good idea to start with, or do you want to risk a low showing with maybe a j in the hole with another low card, and hope to make a better hand? Some general tips would be helpful thanks =] |

Heads up, as default, I will complete every time I have the low card.
At low limits very few people adjust enough to make this unprofitable. If they reraise too often you may have fold some 2-brick hand and also limp(-reraise) some strong 2-baby ones. Also I will open complete some of my bring-ins - obviously most of my 3 card 8s or better, limping some for variation, and a few other cases just so it doent look like I always open-complete with strong hands. If I limp the bring-in I will often call (and sometimes reraise) if I have 2 good cards lower than opp if he completes, and def if he is an "auto-completer" in this spot. After that you have to see what you catch. Short handed rather than heads up I am looking also to 2-card lows rather than just low card showing and will slow down a bit on the auto-completion with 1 good card showing and 2 bricks, but the amount of time you get it folded round you can play it like heads up anyway. I find 3/4 handed is quite fun but heads up can be a bit of a grind on the whole. Tx. |

never EVER open complete. [/ QUOTE ] ...because you make the pot big enough that opp should always peel a card on 4th ?? Also do you mean Razz as a whole or just hds up ? Tx. |

never EVER open complete. [/ QUOTE ] Depending on the ante and bringin, there are times you should opencomplete when you both have the same doorcard. I'd also opencomplete occasionally against an opponent who likes to call a lot on third, though those are rare. |
