if you wanted to communicate electronically in the most untraceable way (knowing that nothing is foolproof) how would you do it? what do you beleive is the most secure e-mail? which do you think is most likely to actually delete your deleted messages (other than the rnc)? would you just send texts? are some im's more secure than others? thanks!

I remember guids talking about some service that is like $15/month and completely masks everything you do on the internet. I'm sure he'll show up and talk about it shortly, but if not then PM him.

Are you worried about security in the sense of not being traced or it not being possible for people to read what you're writing? If you're serious about it, it's pretty easy to unbreakably encrypt relatively small amounts of text.

Other option is to wait for Wire season 5 to find the latest in drug dealer communications.

How anonymous do you need to be? How time intensive do you want this to be? There are degrees of security so pick one, and Ill put a plan together for you:
For very basic stuff, Id download torpark to a USB pen drive, a CD bootable copy of linux, and use a laptop running the bootable CD at a free access WIFI AP, boot into linux, run torpark, use the torpark webbrowser to setup an anonymous account at hushmail, and use pgp to encrypt my message and send it off through hushmail. |

OP: Are you trying to protect the content of the message or your identity? If the former, do you care if you are discovered as the sender, but the message remains uncrackable? If the latter, is it a problem if the contents of the message are discovered, but untraceable?

[/ QUOTE ] You are a very good friend for helping to solve this problem. In any case, I'll give this some thought. I keep almost coming up with it, but every solution seems to have a loophole or be impractically expensive. |
